The design exploits the end-of-terrace condition to create a large wrap-around extension with an abundance of natural light.
Clerestory glazing extends to the full length of the extension sitting atop an exposed brick wall, an expression of the original brick boundary wall. The ground plane has been lowered and the garden excavated to create a perfectly level indoor-outdoor floor finish.
The roof is expressed as a thin plane of steel construction floating above the glazing. Doors are a high quality thin-framed aluminium system with solar control glass. The space is fitted out with a custom kitchen designed by Proctor & Shaw, tailored to the clients requirements.
