A series of bold moves has produced a striking rear elevation that celebrates the relationship of the house with the garden. Contemporary and robust, the appearance of the extension from the garden unifies the ground flooring and sits majestically above the garden level with steps down. The simple palette of materials internally generates calm and elegant spaces which are subtly divided to create different uses. The garden design enhances the concept of the extension in a beautifully considered way.
Some very clever techniques have been used to adapt this property. A sense of space, light, flow and luxury has been incorporated within a modest budget and with little additional floor space. The connection with the landscape has been considered, and some mindful detailing incorporated - the angled window seat, and the projecting steps beyond the air source heat pumps."
